A bake sale is the oldest fundraiser a school club has: everything on the table was baked in somebody's kitchen, and it sells by the piece for small change. Since 2014 food sold to students during the school day has had to meet federal nutrition standards, bar the few fundraisers a state may exempt, which is why a bake sale is so often held after the last bell.

Two students standing on either side of a hand-made tri-fold display board headed 'SPEC - Students Putting an End to Cancer', set up on a folding table on grass, with other stalls and a school building behind them.
